The weather was nice this weekend so I was outside doing some work and had a couple of young moose come into my yard. Hope you enjoy the pictures. I went out last weekend for a couple of days camping and was able to scout a good area for hunting. I am planning on going out for up to ten days or so near the end of the week to try to get our meat in for the winter. Still working on some of the details for the trip but I want to make sure I take everything I need. The trip to my hunting area is about four hours by boat from Galena so coming back for a forgotten item is not a good option. The weather forecast this week originally indicated the possibility of snow mid-week but that has since been taken out. However this time of year the weather can change rapidly. Since I will by a long way up a shallow river, ice forming overnight can be a problem. I have a satellite communicator that Lynn can use to keep in touch so she will let me know if there are any changes in the weather that will cause me problems. If I get the chance I will try to get some pictures but getting a moose is first priority. I will post more when I get back.
Great Moose picture. I love it when we have deer, etc… come by for a visit or quick meal from the spills of our bird feeders. I hope you get the meat needed for your winter meals. Do you go out hunting alone ir take a friend with you? Safe travels and look forward to you next post!
