Dog teams started arriving in Galena a couple of days ago. I was busy Saturday and did not get a chance to get down to the checkpoint. We went down there today to take some food to the mushers and get some pictures of the dogs. A little snow was falling and the temperature was up around 11F. This year the dogs are leaving north on Alexander Lake and taking the portage trail to Koyukuk since the river conditions aren’t too great.
