Last Thursday was my last day with maintenance department. I started with the IT department on Friday as a Computer Technician. We have had a little break in the rain but I haven’t been back out on the river as I have been helping a friend wire his new house. He helped me out a lot last year repairing sheet rock in our house so I told him I would help wire his. We are mostly finished now with that job. I have a few more things to do this week and then I head down to Arkansas on Friday. A barge came in this morning so I included a couple of pictures. Its pretty fascinating, (at least to me), to watch the barge pull in to our landing. The river here isn’t that deep and has a pretty strong current. Just before he reaches the landing the captain will turn the barge around so it is headed up stream and then he angles it toward the bank and works the throttle so he essentially is driving it sideways. I took a few pictures of that but still pictures don’t really do it justice. I put my own boat in at this landing so I can attest to the fact that the current is pretty strong there.
