Lots more snow lately. Even the moose have taken to walking in trails and driveways, (can’t really blame them), instead of breaking trail just to get to food. Lynn was backing into our driveway this afternoon and had to wait while this moose calf finished trimming the brush beside our driveway. Last night as I was walking home across the field, (grass lake), behind our house I had to stop and backtrack about 1/2 mile because a moose cow was standing directly in the trail and had no interest in moving away from the brush she was eating.
We had some relatively warm weather, then it dropped down to -30F or so last night and today. Supposed to get up to single digit negative temperatures tomorrow and possibly into the teens on Sunday. We will use the opportunity to clean our chimney and wood stove before the next round of cold weather. Snow in the forecast again as well. At least the Iron Dog and Iditarod shouldn’t have any complaints about low snow conditions this year.
Stay warm and watch for moose!
