It warmed up considerably on Monday, it wasn’t too cold at about -2F but the overnight snowfall made the run it a little challenging. We got somewhere between 6 and 7 inches total over the weekend. The road in to work had not been plowed by the time I left so the run in was made in at least ankle deep snow. Normally after a fresh snow I try to run in the tracks made by cars, however I was on the road before anyone this time. Plus, at these warmer temperatures the snow had the consistency of sand so it was kind of like running on a soft beach. I had planned on taking a slightly longer route in to work but after a couple of miles I decided I would wait till the conditions were a bit more favorable. I still had to shovel out my work car before I could do anything so I’m sure I got a decent workout.
More snow during the day and by the time I got home we had an additional three inches or so. Of course the snow blower wouldn’t start so lots of shoveling on the driveway before dinner.
The run home today was considerably easier, by this time the plows and cars had made the roads easier to deal with for the most part. Other than getting forced into snowdrifts twice by cars who obviously can’t see a guy wearing strobe lights and reflective gear the trip home was uneventful.
Tomorrow I’ll repeat the process all over although we aren’t supposed to get any significant snow tonight.
