I haven’t posted anything since just after moose season so I thought I would send out this update. We haven’t had a lot of snow this year but we do have a little on the ground. The weather has been a little warmer than usual also but this just makes going back and forth to work a little easier and we don’t burn as much firewood and heating oil.
I’m still riding my bike back and forth to work every day, I want to say I’ll keep this up all winter but I’m just taking it day by day at this point. So far I haven’t had any problems. The same goes for my running, I was running on a treadmill after it cooled off but I have found with some experimentation that I would rather run outside at this point, treadmill running can be really boring, especially if you are trying to do several miles. So far my coldest run was at -7F and I still tend to overdress. My biggest issue right now is light. I run on roads and trails and I really don’t want to injure myself by stepping in a hole that I don’t see. When the opportunity arises I run during the day but because our days are getting shorter right now this is a weekend only option.
Not much else to report at this time, we are in the usual winter cycle of working and keeping the house warm. Thanksgiving is coming up and we hope everyone has an enjoyable time.
Keep warm!
