Happy New Year from Galena!

Hope everyone had a happy new year.  Lynn and I went to a fireworks show on New Years Eve.  They really can’t do a good fireworks show on Independence Day as the sun is up all night then.  New Years is another matter.  The radio station put on a show that lasted about 30 minutes and we were able to watch it from the cab of our truck.  It wasn’t too cold either.

We are back to more seasonal temperatures for a while.  The sky cleared enough to go outside and look at the northern lights although you didn’t want to stay too long since it got down to about -27°F last night.  I stayed up pretty late to try and get some good shots.  I’ll try and post a few when I get something worthwhile. The shot that I posted was taken right outside our back door.

I brought the chainsaw back into the house to warm it up.  I plan to go outside and cut up some more wood this afternoon.  I am heading into town for a couple of days near the end of the week and I don’t want Lynn running out of firewood while I’m gone.

That is about all I have for now.  Back to work tomorrow.

  1. It was 21 degrees here when we left for church this morning. But the sun was shining! That’s something we haven’t seen lately.
